Bristol Silk vessel

This unique sculptural vessel was hand-built in the studio from a white stoneware clay and glazed with a pale satin glaze that feels like sillk to the touch. It has subtle hints of orange, brown and light mauve where it pools into tiny crystals, accentuating the diagonal grooves from handbuilt motions, and features small pale blue pools on the top of the piece. It features a classic yet modern shape that evokes volume and breath, the start of a series the reflect a desire for ample calm and elegance mixed with expressive glazing. The glazes are a combination of recipes developped by the studio and materials collected from the environment like sand, clay, ashes or ground rocks.
