This handmade terracotta vessel is a unique piece, part of a series of ongoing objects that embody simple, classical shapes, and look at the material qualities of clays, it is made from a local Portuguese clay found near Lisbon. The form refers to ancient mediterranean jars for grain storage and is inscribed with markings that echo Lisbon’s many hills and valleys and trace journeys I made when I was making the piece.
The piece in the photo is unique and the exact piece you will receive from purchasing this listing.
The terracotta is a porous material and will gain patina over time unless left indoors.
All pieces are signed on the bottom and come with a certificate of authenticity.
